The department offers the following undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes:
Bachelor’s Degree in “Radioelectronic Devices” (code: 0910; 4-year education); Master’s Degree (speciality code: 8.091001; 2-year education), and Specialist’s Degree (speciality code: 7.091001; 1,5-year education) in “Electronic Tools Manufacturing”, 7.091001 “Information and Computing Tools for Electronic Equipment Engineering”.

Scientific and education direction of the department is connect with a wide implementation of the up-to-date computer technologies in electronic tools of information processing. Nowadays, at the time of information technology development, our graduates and postgraduates develop, design and programme the electronic circuits, synthesize drivers for different electronic equipment, create and use data bases, design devices and software tools for computer networks, create information and computing systems for different functional application.
Studying at our department one can gain in-depth knowledge of computer languages: C++, C, Delphi, ASSEMBLER, VHDL). On graduation you will be a highly qualified specialist in computer software and hardware, microcontrollers, digital signal processors, PLDs, and radioelectronic tools. The department’s curricula are based on CAD methods, design of information, electronic and computing tools of the new generation, including System-on-a-chip (SoC). Much attention is paid to the up-to-date researches in the fields of information and telecommunication technology, images and neuron networks recognition, indistinct arithmetic, expert systems, and digital signal processing. It is achieved by implementation of the modern laboratory base with evaluating modules Starter Kit, Evaluation Board MAX7000, Cyclone “ALTERA”, C2000, C5000, MSC12x “TEXAS INSTRUMENTS”, AVR “ATMEL” together with CAD system MAX-PLUS II, Quartus II, Code Composer Studio, IAR Embedded Workbench, OrCAD, PCAD, and a tool for programming of computing and control computer packages LabVIEW “National Instruments”.
On the basis of the department there is an official Learning centre for design technologies of PLDs “ALTERA” and educational laboratories “TEXAS INSTRUMENTS” and “ATMEL”. There are also 6 educational and scientific laboratories for: information technologies, analogue and digital electronics, design of semiconductor devices and IMCs, artificial intelligence and development of nonstandard inputs/outputs in computers, physical basis of microelectronic, digital technologies.
Among the examples of the department’s scientific and educational directions of work the following can be mentioned as the most successful ones:
- development and programming of control units for different electronic systems;
- engineering development of the radioelectronic equipment units;
- design and programming of big integrated circuits including SoC;
- development and implementation of computing tools for commercial activity (cash registers, cash counters, cash terminals);
- implementation of projects of local and corporate computer networks, including computerization programme of NTUU “KPI”;
- researches in the field of so called “intellectual” electronic information systems, including artificial intelligent systems, expert systems, problem-oriented systems for different functional implementation, indistinct systems and solutions systems.
The department cooperates with different countries worldwide. Students have an opportunity to undertake an internship in Germany, Poland, Korea, and other countries. Our graduates and postgraduates work in Ukraine, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Germany. There is only one condition: fluency in a foreign language is essential.
